Hologram Michael Jackson [Billboard Awards 2014]

A holographic Michael Jackson performance of ‘Slave to the Rhythm’, a song he originally recorded in 1991.

Who else cried or teared up watching this?? Judging by the audience members, I wasn’t the only one.

Forget the speculation. Forget the he said, she saids.

Michael was (and is) the King of Pop; an innovator, a dreamer, a true talent. He was and still is an inspiration to many young artists and creative minds around the world. I still remember watching his concert DVDs and music videos as a child with my family, feeling so in awe at the theatricality and how genuine and captivating Michael was as a person, artist and performer.

Although a hologram will never be able to truly encompass what he represented and who Michael was, it brought a little bit of that magic back into our hearts. At least into mine.

I hope it inspires you and lights a fire in your heart, as it did mine.

“Thank you … no one has ever shown me how to dream bigger and aim higher, work harder or love more what I’m doing cause I’m doing it with you. I’m so happy we’re on this journey together. … Lastly, I just wanted to say, all you little ones sitting on the living room floor watching the T.V. right now, just like I used to do when I was back in the Bronx..have faith, dream big, think big and know that anything is possible. You never know where you might end up.”

Who else cried watching his hologram perform at the 2014 Billboard Awards? Despite what anyone might think, to me, he is still the King of Pop. An innovator, dreamer and artist who inspired millions of people around the world.
